Meet The Team!
Dr. Jeff Carpenter, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Carpenter graduated from Colgate University in 1997 and went on to get an M.S. in immunology and virology from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. His research focused on a DNA-based HIV vaccine. From there he worked in the biotechnology field on a cancer vaccine.
After several years in the biotechnology industry, and a brief stint writing for ABCNew.com, he went back to school for his DVM. In 2008 he graduated from The Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and joined a small animal practice in Framingham. In July of 2016, he took the Chief of Staff position at Ayer Animal Medical Center.
Dr. Carpenter lives with his wife Melinda, and two cats name Max and Ellie. In his spare time, he enjoys photography. You can see more of his photos here.
Amanda has been at AAMC since 2012. Before entering the veterinary field, Amanda was in the banking industry. She is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have 3 beautiful children. She has 2 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys spending time with her family and advocates for autism awareness.
Bobby Joe Belair
Bobby Joe joined AAMC in 2003. Prior to working in the veterinary field, she was a CNA for 7 years. Together with her husband and two beautiful daughters, she enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, camping, and kayaking. Bobby Joe views her career at AAMC as more of an opportunity to advocate the very best care for all the amazing animals she has the pleasure of meeting.
Danielle started working at AAMC in 2013 after spending seven years in the customer service industry. She is engaged to her high school sweetheart. They ‘currently’ have two cats: Angel, an affectionate lap cat and Olive, a quiet but playful cat. Danielle enjoys live music, kayaking, camping, going to the beach, spending time with friends, and often takes trips to Northern Vermont. She embraces her ‘Crazy Cat Lady’ personality and absolutely loves her job.
Sarah began at AAMC in 2016 as an intern from Mount Ida College; where she received her Bachelor’s degree in applied science, majoring in veterinary technology. Sarah has been caring for animals since she was five years old, starting with her first pet guinea pig. She was an active member of her 4H club of 12 years, looks forward to growing and learning as a technician, and dreams about owning lots of animals in the future, both large and small. For now, Sarah lives with her family and her beagle Harvey, a rescued testing facility dog, and her cat Sonny Buns.
Kasey has been in the veterinary field since 2010 and loves every minute of it. She has two animals of her own: Buck, a French bulldog-pit bull cross who is super clumsy and Gizmo, a cinnamon ferret who is extremely mischievous. In her spare time, Kasey enjoys riding ATV’s and horses. She aspires to become a certified vet tech in the near future.
Melissa has been a veterinary technician since graduating from Becker College in 2002. She has a very high maintenance sheltie named Landon. She is also passionate about health and fitness and is a personal coach for Team Beachbody.
Adriana lives in Fitchburg with her boyfriend. She has two beautiful dogs: Zoey, a 1 ½-year-old pit bull and Baloo, a one-year-old German Shepherd. She is currently in school for vet assisting where she plans to further her education in the vet field. Adriana enjoys playing with her dogs and taking them on hikes. She works in the kennel where her upbeat attitude and love of animals keeps your dogs and cats happy while you are away.
Emily has been at AAMC since 2014. She aspires to further her knowledge in the veterinary field. She has her cosmetology license, but her passion has changed to veterinary medicine. Her hobbies include spending time with her boyfriend, family, and friends. She loves all Boston sports teams. She has grown up having dogs and cats. She currently has two dogs named Candie and Snuggles.
